Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about entry regulations, must-knows and the restricted zone.
With Ukraine Adventures you can explore the cities of Kiev and Odessa, the regions of Donbass and Crimea as well as the exclusion zone around Chernobyl. At your side is a private guide who would like to show you and your friends the country.
In contrast to other providers, we would like to offer you a very individual experience by keeping our excursion groups very small. In addition, your privacy is very important to us, which is why you will only be travelling with your guide and possibly your friends.
The costs depend on the destination and duration of the trip. In general, we have no hidden costs, so you know how much the trip will cost before you start.
Only participants of an officially registered tour and accompanied by an official representative of the restricted zone (licensed tour guide) are allowed to enter the restricted area. Furthermore, you must be over 18 years old and have a valid passport. Entering the restricted zone is only allowed between 7 am and 8 pm. We also generally recommend that you take out a health insurance policy for abroad.
In general the tour is absolutely safe. The radiation absorbed during your stay is less than the radiation absorbed during your flight to Ukraine. Your guide is very experienced and instructs you exactly. We provide you with a Geiger counter that warns you of higher radiation in critical areas.
Photographing checkpoints or police officers is prohibited. Camera tripods are allowed. Drone flights are officially allowed for a one-time fee of 275€. However, it is important to know that there is a restricted area within a radius of 1km around the power station.
It is important that you wear long-sleeved outerwear and long trousers in the zone for your own safety. Shoes should be tight and closed, and ankles should be covered. Don't forget, many buildings decay slowly, you have to walk through glass and debris.
We have our meals in the power station canteen and in the hotel. All food is specially imported into the exclusion zone and is harmless. In addition, drinks and snacks await you in the tour van. The catering is already included in the price.
There are no pharmacies in the restricted zone. If you are allergic to any substances, please let us know in advance. Don't forget to bring your medication if you need it.
